I think we all know that there is a war going on with traditional cameras and mobile technology. Have you seen that recent commercial for Nikon with Aston Kutcher where he claims that mobile phones aren’t as good as cameras?
I suppose that we all know this is the case, but one would have to say that the typical mobile phone camera is better than it was a few years ago. I suppose that it is just a matter of time before that rectangle of a smartphone is better than the point-and-shoot or even the DSLR.
Turtleback’s new TurtleJacket PentaEye case is definitely a step in that direction, as it has five different lenses that you can switch from in a circular pattern. You can change the settings like an old-fashioned TV dial and you can go from fisheye lens, wide-angle lens, zoom lens, simple pass-through filter, or just the standard lens.
All in all, it looks quite good. The problem is the price at $270. I wonder if some other manufacturer will make it cheaper, sooner.
