While I was doing some shopping at a Fred Meyer, I saw Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings on sale for $19.99. I couldn’t believe it! This video game just came out. Apparently, it was not a big hit.
To paraphrase a line from Robocop: “Now I’d buy that for twenty dollars”. I figured it was worth trying. After all, I still remember Indy back in his 1981 Raiders of the Lost Ark glory, something that faded after that last Kingdom of the Crystal Skull fiasco. Those of you who were disappointed at seeing aliens in that fourth Indy film should know that Indiana is back to finding religious artifacts again as the Staff of Kings is really the Staff of Moses.
See my full review here. I can’t really recommend the game, but if you are looking for a little action, this is a fun way to entertain yourself for a while. I’d recommend playing it with the Wii, then use the Nyko Action Pack.
I bought the Wii version, and I found the motion controllers made it fun to do some fist fighting. However, the game has a lot in common with other action/puzzle games like the Tomb Raider series.
And parents, if you are comfortable letting your kids watch the PG-13 Indiana Jones series, then the violence in the Staff of Kings won’t bother you at all.
