I think it has been a while since I reviewed an Actiontec product, but the ScreenBeam Mini 2 is essentially made for streaming videos and photos from a compatible laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
The way it works is that you connect that dongle to your HDTV, and then you can stream content from a compatible device to the TV. This means that you can go watch anything on Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon, and YouTube or anything else. It is compatible with Windows 8.1, Android 4.2 or higher, as well as Wi-Fi Miracast and Intel WiDi certified laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
Okay, I’m going to have to tell you that I had a hard time setting this up for my laptop, and I had a ScreenBeam TX, a wireless display USB transmitter. Granted, I think that a part of the transmitter was missing, as the box was slightly empty. I also couldn’t get it to work with my phone, and I downloaded the app.
Generally, when I try out a product, I don’t usually report when it doesn’t work. I usually just assume that there is a problem with the unit and not the product overall. Unless the product just doesn’t work on principle, but I’ve only encountered a few products that do that.
Hopefully this will work for you, and you can get it on the Actiontec site for about $53.24, and you should check out the other stuff on the site while you are there.
