Doubledutch and Tiny Build Games present Speedrunners

October 3, 2014 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

And now, for another game that I have been playing on Steam, and this one is Speedrunners, a fast-paced game with a very interesting premise. Some games involves superheroes, and some games are platformers, and some games are really, really fast. Speedrunners is all three of those.

Speedrunners is about a race between four superheroes. Why are these superheroes racing? I don’t know. I’m pretty certain that Superman and the Flash had a race every few years because…it’s hard to come up with new comic book plotlines. Anyway, these superheroes jump and duck as they race. They also do wall-jumps, and can even use grappling hooks on ceilings as well as other competitors.

I had a chance to try this out on Steam, and this game is fast. The tutorial wasted me, because I had to learn the right buttons to do everything. This is a serious eyehand coordination game, and it takes quite a few plays before you get the serious button mashing down to complete this race. It’s hard. It’s really hard, but it has an interesting look that reminds me of the end-credit sequence from The Incredibles.

I believe that a beta version of Speedrunners is on Steam, and hopefully you can get it too. You can find out more information about it here. Until then, the best thing I can say is Go Speedrunner Go!
