Let’s face it, we all want to do more on our laptops. It feels like I am always running out of USB ports, but thanks to the J5Create Ultra Station (JUD500), this isn’t much of a problem anymore.
You can see in the image here the bar that is this power station, and it is pretty impressive what it will give an ordinary laptop. It has two USB 3.0 Ports, a USB 2.0 port, a VGA Port, and an HDMI port with a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1152. It also has an Ethernet port and ports for microphone and headphones. There is also a wormhole switch, but I will discuss what that is later.
I had a chance to try it out, and I like having the use of more ports. I will have to say only two drawbacks. You have to plug this Ultra Station to get it to work, and the included cord is not very long. Also, I had a Monitor2Go from MMT on my laptop, and since I installed the Ultra Station, I am having a hard time getting it to work again. But I can solve that problem.
Let’s talk again about the Wormhole that I mentioned earlier. I realize that sounds like that term they throw around on Stargate, but with J5Create, it is something more practical.
What you are seeing here is the Wormhole Switch, and it gives the a user the ability to transfer files from one computer to the other. This is true if you are using Windows to Windows, Mac to Mac, Mac to Windows, even Mac to iPad. The Ultra Station that I have previously discussed has this tech built-in.
I recommend giving these products a try if you are trying to network your laptops. You can get the JUD500 Ultra Station on Amazon for about $116 and the Wormhole switch cable JUC 400 for about $34.99.
