I think we all have problems with our earbuds that have something to do with their ability to get tangled. If you want to keep them from getting tangle damage, you should look into the Nest.

You then insert the earbuds (the actual things you put in your ear holes), and then wind the cord around its spindle. When you need to use the earbuds again, just gently yank on the connecting port and the earbuds just come right out.
