I am going to be completely straight with you readers today and just say that I enjoy doing headphone reviews. All I need to do is stick them in my ears and then describe the experience. I can even watch a movie while I am doing it. Hey, I’m living the dream.
I have reviewed Beyerdynamic’s products before, like the T90 a few weeks ago. You will be pleased to know that the Custom One Pro is much cheaper.
But we will get to the price later. For now, let me say that I am currently blown away with the Custom One Pro. I decided to test it by watching the beginning of Terra Nova. If you are not familiar with Terra Nova, it was a short-lived speculative fiction show about people from a dystopian future that go back in time to live in a world full of dinosaurs. The show was good up until they arrive to dinosaur land. I always enjoyed the first five minutes of the show, as it is better than most science-fiction movies. The deep bass sounds of the Terra Nova pilot blew me away, and I believe that they were enhanced with the power of the Custom One Pro.
I am assuming that the Custom One Pro gets its power from the 16-Ohm drivers. On the sides of the Custom One Pro are adjustable switches for four settings that include Light Bass, Linear, Vibrant Bass, and Heavy Bass. Now I am watching Lockout, now on Netflix, and I might write about it as it is very cool so far. Lots of big sound in this movie and the Custom one Pro headphones.
In case you didn’t see the name of the headphones, Custom comes first. Not only are the switches for bass levels adjustable for what the user wants, but many other features of the Custom One Pro are fully, for lack of a better word, customizable.
For example, there are covers on the sides of the earpads that can be changed out for other covers of different colors and images. The Custom One Pro has an Allen wrench made for removing the covers, and they each cost about $9.90 each.
Now that I have mentioned a cost of an accessory, let’s get to the cost of the headphones themselves. It is about $200.00 and available here. Yes, that might seem high-priced for headphones like this, but I believe these are worth it and worth the money.
