I first saw Outdoor Technology’s products at CES last January, and I was very impressed with the Turtle Shell Wireless Boom Box.
Apparently, the company thought that the Sasquatch needed a wireless and waterproof speaker. Since I have been connecting to a lot of Bluetooth devices lately, like the Mighty Dwarf BlueII, but you’ll hear about that in the next post. I was pleased to try out the Turtle Shell for myself.
I am very impressed at how loud it is. Right now, I am allowing my son to play a little Angry Birds Star Wars, and it sounds awesome. Yes, its sounds quite awesome, and it is capable of other things.
For example, it is water, shock, and dust-proof, meeting IP5X standards for withstanding a lot of stuff. The Turtle Shell also features a built-in mic in case you want to use that as a speakerphone. Other impressive specs include a Bluetooth range of 33 feet and 240 hours of standby on a single charge.
I found it on the Outdoor Technology website for a price of about $149.95.
