SHIFTCAM Review: S Mount Camera Case with LensUltra 60mm Telephoto Lens and 200 Degree Fisheye Lens

March 27, 2025 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)

All right, so this is my second review of SHIFTCAM products, and I definitely wanted to focus on a different aspect of mobile photography. In this case, a way of taking pictures with one’s iPhone camera with two different lenses. To start, you will need the S Mount Camera case, at least if you have the iPhone 16.

There are other S Mount cases for earlier editions of the iPhone, and I was glad that I could try this one out, as you can see in the video. I used the clear case, but it looks like it has other types, and I am assuming they have the very strong magnet, which is MagSafe compatible. I also assume that you can find it compatible with the SHIFTCAM products that I reviewed last time.

Before I get into the whole mounting lens aspect of the case, I want to talk about other features. For example, it has 2 meters of drop protection, which are pretty common for most cases that give protection, and this is apparently the most sustainable case yet as it is made with GRS recycled plastics and recycled aluminum as well. I’m not certain about the fabric ones.

Okay, time to start to talk about the lenses as well as the way they mount on the S Mount case. I think in the video I explained how I couldn’t figure that out at first, and I found out that there are actually two ways. One of them is with this Universal kit, but the S Mount case has these specialized threaded nuts that you have to screw on the LensUltra Lenses. Once those specialized nuts are on, you can put on the lens with a twist, and for the most part, they tend to stay on.

Let’s talk about the the Lensultra Lenses, as they both come with macrofibre cloth and a special cleaning pen that has this retractable brush. These also come with cases which have carabiners, which will insure that they will travel without getting cracked.

So let’s talk about the 60mm Telephoto. I mean, if you are going to be looking at getting a close-up of something, this will give you some great clarity, sharpness, and compressed perspective. There is also 2-5x Crips optical zoom, and you will be able to get your shot in perfect proportion.

As for the 200 Degree Fisheye Lens, you can use it to get that really awesomely wide-angle view and also get that circular effect in the photos. It’s really great for when you are trying to get a lot within a shot, as well as making it artistic as well.

Facts About The Company

This is the first time that I have reviewed anything from ShiftCam, and I hope it isn’t the last time. The company exists for mobile photography, and it took a while to make this here, and it got a lot of CES awards. I remember seeing them at CES, so that is pretty great.

What Does This Company Make?

ShiftCam has some stuff for lenses, and all kinds of accessories made for mobile photography.

Maybe I Want It, But Is There Anything Else Like It? Maybe For A Lower Price? Please?

There was once this company known as Olloclip, and they used to make these lenses for smartphones. I have no idea what happened to this company, as they used to steadily supply me with products for review.
