This is the LDS (Leia Display System)

July 1, 2013 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

I suppose that seeing Leia telling that Obi-Wan was “her only hope” was the beginning of an age where we wanted to see holograms. Why else would this new holographic system called the Leia Display System, even though it has the same acronym as the Latter-Day Saints.

This LDS is some serious Star Wars technology with a laminar airflow system is “the most steady midair screen on the market”. You can watch the video and see that this creates a room where a user can just wander around in a holographic world.

Yes, you can dance with holographic bubbles and ballerinas, and it has another cool feature where you can put a map of the world and pinch-to-zoom. Actually, it is more like spread your hands to zoom, the difference is that it is 3-D.

Okay, so what we are we seeing here? Can we actually have one of these in our own homes? Perhaps we could have it so this can be a screen at one point, and then pass over us to immerse us in a 3D world.

Yeah, the future looks like a cool place, provided this technology ever gets cheap to make.
