This Sensor Bracelet brings the one thing technology can’t give yet: Touch

June 25, 2013 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

I would like to think that technology is pretty good. First it allowed us to hear from places when we are miles away with the invention of radio. Then it allows it us to see far off places thanks to the invention of video. I believe that other three senses are about ready to be technologized.

There is scent technology that needs to perfected, and I haven’t seen any tech that has been attempted to replicate taste just yet. If they do that, then all the restaurants, from fine dining to fast food, will have to have some serious online presence. But enough speculation on that front, this is about a sensor bracelet that can replicate touch.

This device is the Tactilu, created by Polish design studio Pangenerator. It is a wrist device to allow its wearers the ability to communicate remotely via sense of touch. You may have already watched the video and saw that there are just these little fingers ready to tap via Internet or Bluetooth correction.

I don’t know if this will produce more than a tap, but I think this shows that tech is really incapable of replicating touch as it is with taste. I can’t help but think what a world it will be when we do perfect the sense of touch via technology. The Matrix, here we come.
