Hands on with the HomeMonitor from Y-Cam

April 15, 2013 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

HomeMonitor-Indoor-CameraIf you are ever in the need of another camera in your house for security reasons, or perhaps a baby monitor, you should consider the HomeMonitor from Y-Cam.

The HomeMonitor is easy to set up. All you need to do is just connect it to your router with the included cable. Then just go to a computer and configure it using your Wi-Fi network, and you can even unplug it from your router after that. You will need to keep the camera plugged into the wall, but you will have that extra eye.

From there, you can set up the camera to take footage using motion detection, and even set up alerts. These alerts can be sent to an email, and you can see exactly what was recorded. The videos are archived for 7-days in a cloud-based video storage to be viewed on a smartphone or tablet.

In addition to the video capability and storage, the HomeMonitor has High Quality video and audio, along with infrared night vision to see in the dark for about 15 meters.

I found that the HomeMonitor was good for viewing footage on my laptop, but I had difficulty viewing the video on my smartphone. There wasn’t an app for that, and there really should be.

However, if you are interested in this kind of tech, head on over to the HomeMonitor site and check it out.
