Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)
Okay, I have to admit that this is one product that looks so similar to another that I couldn’t believe that they weren’t made by the same company. In the case of the HPFS500, the FilmScan 5-inch Touchscreen Film scanner, it is way too similar to one from Kodak. In fact, I reviewed that one, and I’m wondering…should I do a comparison. Too late, I already am.
Anyway, so what is the HPFS500 FilmScan 5-inch Touchscreen Film scanner? Well, depending on who you are, you might be too young to use it. Seriously, if you do not have slides in variants of 110, 126, and 135, or negatives of those same numbers, then you might not need this.
As for me, I actually had a few old negatives, and they were the color ones. If I had ever just found them and not the prints, I could turn the negative positive! There are some types of trays that allow the user to scan the negatives, and then the program will show what the negative looks like, as if it was a print.
From there, you can use the 5-inch touchscreen to make some alterations like the brightness and color. I have a better demonstration on the video, which includes an unboxing and a little bit of a demonstration.
The best part is that you can save the converted negative, or the slide. Yes, it does slides. All you need to do is just hit the button on top to instantly save, and you can also view this on a gallery on the device itself. Of course, you will need an SD card, and then you can save it to your computer.
So yes, if you happen to have a lot of old slides and/or photo negatives, and you want to save them as a digital memory, head over to the HP devices website and lay down $229.99 for it.
Facts About The Company
Well, like I said last time, I’m not sure what rock that you live under, but I’m sure that you’ve at least heard of HP. If you haven’t, then they are a technology company born of the belief that companies should do more than make a profit, and make the world a better place.
Yeah, I got that from the “About Us” page, and HP has been in business for about 80 years.
What Does This Company Make?
Well, it has a specialty in personal systems, printers, and 3D printing solutions. I have reviewed a Chromebook for them, and even did a video for Wal-Mart for them. I actually tried to find that video, but it has been taken down, and I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but it has been a few years ago.
