Our Review of the VOLTME MagPak 5K

February 18, 2023 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)

Okay, by now I have reviewed many mobile batteries. This isn’t one of those times where I have to explain what this product is. Chances are, you probably have two or three of these floating around in your house, and none of them are charged. And, when you finally realize that you should probably charge them, you can’t find the charging cord.

So, generally, I like to look at what makes the product different then others. Again, one of the big features isn’t actually unique. You know how the iPhone had that cool MagSafe feature now so you can just lock your iPhone in place, and now every case has to have this? Well, the VOLTME MagPak 5K has that, and it is a 9N magnetic battery with super-strong magnets to snap firmly in place. It is definitely designed for that iPhone 14/13/12 series.

In fact, VOLTME sent me a message that I wanted to make certain got transmitted:

The MagSafe Battery Pack is designed for iPhone 14 13 12 series (Not suggest for Mini and other iPhone series due to magnetic ring may not attach). It is a little bit tight, just pull back 90 degrees for a few times, and it will stand up perfectly, for first time opening up the stand. Snap Your iPhone to Battery Pack Before Using it as a Kickstand.

I am told that VOLTME MagPak 5K has a Graphene material for better heat dissipation. I think that is great, because honestly, things that charge up tend to get hot at some times. I didn’t know that Graphene is “one of the strongest materials in the known universe” and “it’s unique properties includes its flexibility, transparency, high conductivity, and impermeable to most gases and liquids”. Yes, I am quoting from the site, and I’ll also share how this magnetic battery made with short-circuit protection.

Also, that portable charger can be manually turned off while other brands cannot, all that is required is to long-press on the button to turn that power off. You can also charge your phone while you are charging the charger, and even charge two devices at once, one while wired and other wired. You can also use the MagPak 5K to charge that wireless AirPod charging.

You know what? I still didn’t get to all the features of the MagPak 5K, and I might as well tell you another cool feature. I’ve seen a lot of these mobile batteries have a kind of kickstand feature, and the MagPak 5K has that as well. The thing is that it has this weird flap that is on a diagonal and can fold out.

I have to admit that the super-flap (that’s what I’m going to call it) works pretty well in landscape mode, but not so much in portrait mode. It does fold down pretty easily.

If you check out the video below, you can see that I have this particular product in light blue. It’s actually Matte Blue, but here are four other types: Charcoal, Forest Green, Violet, and Dove Gray.

Now, just to let you know, I don’t have an Apple Phone, not even the most recent one. My Android phone has a wireless charging capacity, and the MagPak 5K worked well with it, even though it couldn’t affix to it magnetically.

Facts About The Company

A big buzzword of this year, and most certainly at CES 2023, was sustainability. Based on what I can see on their website, VOLTME feels like a new company. I could be wrong, but they have a very contemporary vision of pushing engineering limits to make all kinds of products.

What Does This Company Make?

I would have to say that anything that is related to charging would be made by VOLTME. I’ve already talked about the MagPak 5K, but they also have wall chargers, power cables, and power strips. They also have some Power Stations, and I would love to look in on that one. Yeah, I’m trying to get a hold of them for another review, because honestly, I like the direction where this company is going.

So How Are the Reviews

On the main website, I couldn’t find any reviews there. Right now on Amazon, it has 30 reviews. It averages at about 4.4 stars. I think that is quite good.

Okay, I Like It, Just Give Me The Link So I Can Buy It Already!

I believe that the Amazon link is the correct product, and here is where you can get more information on the VOLTME site.

Maybe I Want It, But Is There Anything Else Like It? Maybe For A Lower Price? Please?

Oh yes, I just reviewed one from ESR, the HaloLock Kickstand. I think it has double the power at 10,000 mAh (as this is why it is called MagPak 5K), and is about the same price.

As for the idea of mobile batteries, I have reviewed so many of them that I’ve discovered that doing a search for “mobile battery” resulted in reviews from years ago. I think you can pretty much find them anywhere, because we’ll always need them, won’t we?
