While trying to establish my contacts before the holidays, I decided to check in at someone at RCA. As it turns out, RCA has been defunct for years, but the brand name is still being used.
I missed this announcement at CES last January, and I find this odd, because I just registered for CES 2014 today. Coincidentally enough, RCA is planning on launching their RCA Mobile TV Tablet.
What is the Mobile TV Tablet? It is “the first tablet device to feature an integrated mobile TV tuner with Dyle mobile TV, offering viewers on-the-go access to 130 mobile TV stations throughout the country”. In a world that is full of tablets, this one is made for what we really want: Live TV. Whether or not you want it or not is up to you.
I believe that it will run on Android, specifically Ice Cream Sandwich. I guess they didn’t make the JellyBean or KitKat cut. It comes with Wi-Fi, GPS, and dual cameras.
My press release Source said that this tablet was coming in the spring, but it has yet to surface. Also, the price is said to be at $299, but that might be lowered, so just keep you eyes peeled for it.
