SmartFitty Advanced Smartwatch

March 16, 2013 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

smartfittywatchesI can’t help but wonder if we are heading into some era of the smartwatch, as there have been a lot of news from the big Apple about how they are developing a smartwatch of some kind.

Right now, the smartwatch market isn’t too big. I know that I recently reported on the Mio Alpha watch, which links to a phone via Bluetooth for fitness apps. The SmartFitty smartwatch is ready to embrace the era of smartwatches, much better than the I’m Watch from I’m Smart.

The SmartFitty is made for many activities. You will receive notifications for incoming calls, incoming email, incoming text, iMessages not to mention calendar reminders, Facebook messages, Facebook posts, and Twitter.

As a fitness monitor, it has an activity monitor into the watch to track the number of steps you take. You can then put that data into some charts and graphs. By the way, the watch works nights as it tracks sleep patterns as well.

Yes, there are a lot of built-in apps on the SmartFitty. In fact, there is a gambling app for BlackJack that allows for counting cards so you can bet at the right time. Yes, this makes the watch illegal in 20 states, including, and not surprisingly, Nevada.

What attracted me to the SmartFitty was it was described to me in an email as “a James Bond watch”. It is very versatile for a watch, and Bond had some really cool ones over the years. The SmartFitty is full of tricks, that is for sure, but it has no built-in laser. It is sleek, like something Bond would wear with stainless steel and and black leather strap.

Right now, this is an Indiegogo project, and you can read more about it here. You can get it for the $125 Early Bird and $140 for pre-order. If it ever gets to the point where you will find it in a retail store, the price will be about $135.
