Our Review of the Bop IT Button OG, 25th Anniversary Edition

December 11, 2022 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Okay, I’m pretty certain that most of you are familiar with Bop-IT. If you aren’t, then it is this game that came out in 1996, an electronic one that talks to you. Normally this has a button to Bop as well as other things to interact with once the game prompts, but if you mess up, game over. It’s simple, right? Now imagine that being a button to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the game.

That’s just what I’m reviewing now, and I am not even certain why I have it. Bop It is licensed by Hasbro, but this one is a stand-alone button. Now, you would think that this one button Bop It would be less complicated, and it is. However, it is also quite maddening.

I mean, it gets really binary. That is, the only thing that the button says is “Bop IT” or “don’t Bop IT”. You think that would be simple, like an over-simplified game of Simon Says. Well, it is by no means a Simple Simon Says.

You see, it is the “don’t Bop IT” is where it gets tricky. Sometimes, there’s a “don’t” followed by a short pause “Bop IT”. It’s enough to be really difficult, sometimes.

The challenge is to get to as many levels as you can, and you can unlock over 150 sounds of phrases from over 25 years of Bop IT.

You want to try it for yourself, you can find it on this website.
