I suppose that we have all played Monopoly, and there is a version of Monopoly for pretty much any interest you have from Star Wars to The Lord of Rings.
I suppose that Monopoly Millionaire could be tailored to a money-lover’s interests, but I thought that everyone loves money. Monopoly Millionaire changes the names of the properties to something far more glamorous like Paradise Island and Fortune Valley.
The rules of this game have also changed: first one to one million wins, which means you had better count your money when you’re sitting at the table. In the meantime, the player lives like a millionaire with yachts, planes, and everything that you would need at least a million dollars to afford. Apparently, you try to upgrade your lifestyle, and there is a lot of risk involved.
In my opinion, Monopoly Millionaire would have probably worked better if it had come out a decade ago, back when ABC just had to air several episodes of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire every week. I suppose that America will never tire of the aspect of being a millionaire, but I am guessing that soon one million dollars won’t be that much money.
Speaking of money, the Monopoly Millionaire is up for purchase at the Hasbro site for about $22.99.
