Electronic Arts (EA) had high hopes with the release of Sim City. Rebooting franchises is the video game industry’s consistent income, but their latest foray has been called a “disaster”.
The new Sim City required always on connectivity, which is something different than previous versions. Apparently, the people at EA were not prepared for the influx of online users and “more people played and played in ways we never saw in the beta”. This is a quote from Lucy Bradshaw, General Manager of Sims creater and EA subsidary company Maxis.
The company is offering a free game to those affected by this problem, which is a lot. You can check out the entire list of games from my Source.
