It seems like there is a huge market for products to help with security, and none of them involve a lot of expensive equipment as well as a bunch of rent-a-cops. Yes, this is a DIY era where not only is there an app for that, but there is more than likely a lot of accs, or accessories for that.
And so enters the Circle 2 from Logitech, a very prolific company that we have talked about more than once, last time here. I had a chance to try it out, and I got to admit, I like the direction products like these are going.
How is the Setup for the Logitech Circle 2?
You can see in the image above that the Circle 2 has two major components, the camera and a stand that is smaller. In unboxing this product, these two parts come together, but it wasn’t easy, at first.
Generally, products like these are all about downloading an app and then following the instructions. When I plugged in the Circle 2 and followed the instructions, I was told to turn it on. I couldn’t figure out how to do that, until I properly snapped them together.
From there, it was just a matter of waiting for the right color of light to happen, and then I was prompted to set up an account. This was, of course, very easy, and in no time at all, I was seeing this particular image.
As you can see, we got a big 180 degree view, and I’m going to write an article soon about how this is essentially my computer’s view of my new headquarters. I have to admit that I probably should have smiled for the picture that I chose to take from the app itself, and let’s see if I fixed it.
Okay, not really. However, I did succeed in showing you the menu that I see on my app on my smartphone. What is awesome is that the “Day Brief” button shows my day in fast motion, so if you are looking for a certain thing there, it will be there. You can also scroll through times on this. You can take stills and even do two-way communication with the help of those icons in the lower left-hand corner.
I fully intend to keep this Logitech Circle 2 and use it as an electronic eye watchdog on my house. You can purchase it on the Logitech site for $179.99 for the wired version, and $199.99 for the wire-less version. In addition to this, you can also purchase a Window Mount, Plug Mount, and other accessories that will help you mount it in a proper place.
