Antlion Audio ModMic Uni2 and ModMic USB 2 Review (Upadated!)

August 17, 2024 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)

Yes, we will be reviewing not one, but two products from Antlion Audio. This company makes many cool things, and one of them is the ModMic, which is a detachable microphone for any set of earmuff style headphones.

Our Review of the Antlion Audio ModMic Uni 2

Now, the Antlion Audio ModMic Uni 2 is that detachable microphone, but it has the 3.5 mm termination which serves as the Universal for this product’s name! Because of this, it can be plugged into any 3.5 mm port.

So yes, the ModMic Uni 2 works right out of the box. You will notice that the video I made below shows this product in a box, and then a case. Everything that you will need for this product is in the case. So it is absolutely right for work on the go.

How does it work? Well, that is the easy part. What you need to do is use the adhesive headphones, which gives you a magnetic clasp. So when you need to put on the ModMic Uni 2, it just snaps right on and comes off when needed.

I don’t know if this is a niche market for something like this, but I have heard that the ModMic is one of the company’s best microphones ever. Oh yes, there is a mute switch on it, accessible with a flick of a button.

Our Review of the Antlion Audio ModMic USB 2

Now, Antlion Audio’s ModMic USB 2 is very similar to the ModMic Uni 2, but it has a USB-A termination, and there is a USB-C adapter included.

Now, the similarity is that magnetic adhesive which allows you to snap on the ModMic USB 2. So I guess you could use these interchangeably, maybe? I actually just had that thought now about how you could use the USB 2 and the Uni 2 on the same adhesive magnet. I forgot to mention that you can use this on a VR headset, something that I don’t think the Meta has, really.

By the way, there is also mute button, but unlike the Uni 2, it isn’t a switch, but a button. Yeah, I don’t know why that changed. Besides the USB dongle, that button is the only thing differing the USB 2 from the Uni 2.

I believe that the microphone is probably the same, and it is very advanced! So that is quite the bonus, right?

Facts About The Company

Antlion Audio is a Portland company that is trying to make some very innovative products. The emphasis is on creating “stellar voice communication capabilities to your favorite headphones”.

What Does This Company Make?

So yes, there is emphasis on audio products, as we have reviewed the Kimura Duo and Solo earbuds. Oh, and we reviewed the ModMic before.
