We have some more products from iHome to review. This company has brought some great products that we’ve reviewed in the past such as these lamps we just reviewed recently. Here’s another one by iHome- the Color Changing Bluetooth Rechargeable Stereo Speaker with 360° Light Show.
iHome has several of these speakers, and I like them because I love color. Their other speakers like this are cool and all, but this one is extra cool with the smart button that can pair with your other Smart Home devices.
A free app called iHome Enhance is able to configure and control things like setting alarms or patterns. The app could probably use some updating, though. You do not need the app to use the speaker. Buttons on the front control volume, play/pause, voice command/talk/end for answering calls, color mode button for the front, and a rear projection button.
It takes about 5 hours to charge before using the speaker. When you push the power button while it’s on and not charging, you can find out what the battery level is. The back of the speaker contains the USB-in charging port and Aux-in Jack. There is also the power button and the Bluetooth button. There is a small micro USB to USB A cord included, but no adapter to connect to a wall. When fully charged, the box says that it lasts up to 22 hours. That would depend on your use, of course. If the light show is going, it’s going to take up a lot more of that battery.
The one pound, 7.6 x 3.47 x 5.12 inches device is not big, but two stereo drivers produce decent sound. For the price, this device can hold its own. I think the best features are the lights and the ability to control other smart home products. It works with Google, Siri, and Melody.
For $45.99, you can purchase this item on Amazon. We did get this one for free to review, but no other compensation was given, and we are not sponsored by iHome. We are providing our free and unbiased analysis.
