I’ll start with an inspiring story of a man who survived the Haiti Earthquake due to an iPhone app. This man, Dan Woolley, is a filmmaker for Compassion International.

Here’s some new computers from Toshiba, the Terca A11 and Qosmio X500.

Speaking of some new computers, there is a new netbook from Samsung called the NB30 that is now on sale.

There’s this rumor going around that HP laptops could be getting some pico-projectors.

Here is a Oppo Enjoy, an e-reader powered by Android. You like?

The Xperia X10 is coming to NTT DoCoMo, but with a different name, the Smartphone Xperia.

Forget the iSlate. It’s already available as an iPhone app. Don’t let the name fool you, though.

Channel your inner Jack Black with Voice Band iPhone app

Man, I really want to shred on a guitar or play some awesome bass, but I’m just too lazy and undisciplined to learn how to play.

Fortunately, there is an app for that. Thanks to VoiceBand, all I have to do is just go ba-ba-bah in some form into my iPhone, and I’ll have some serious sound that I could probably peddle on iTunes. Check out the video above if you want to hear more about what VoiceBand can do.

You should be able to get VoiceBand at the iTunes store for about $3.00.

I’m not certain if my audience is interested in this, but Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is on the App Store.

Motorola is about to introduce their first Android phone to the South Korean market with the Motorola MOTOROI.

Here is a new PMP from iRiver called the K1 Smart HD.

This is a new 22-inch iMac touchscreen. Will it be made? Who knows. Everything that Apple does is just sort of rumor.

Asus is planning on an e-reader with the DR-950.

With a little help from the NeuroSky Mindset and an N97, you can play a Brain Maze with your brain.

The LG GW620 is going be released in the UK.

Here is an Onzo device that shows how much energy you’re using.

The Aliph Jawbone Icon has some terrific features like the MyTalk.

Gran Turismo 5 has a trailer, and it shows the Toyota FT-86 G concept ar.

The Lexus GX 460 has a wacky ad.

Tech News for the Day, Weekend Edition, January 17, 2010

I’ve got a little news this weekend:

Sanwa has a ultra-cheap pico-projector with the Sanwa 400 PRJ-001.

You should see this Froot Concept from Dell. It has two projectors: one for the keyboard and another for the display.

The Cowon W2 has an announced price and release date.

ASUS is planning on releasing an e-reader known as the DR-570, and it will be out sometime this year.

The New York Times is planning on putting out its content digitally, but you will have to pay for it.

Alex is a laptop which requires a monthly subscription. It is weird, I know.

Rogers Network had to put a stop to the HTC Dream, due to some technical difficulties.

Like the HTC HD2? There is a stylus for that.

This is the Avertec Lookie, a laptop with a lot to look at.

Lastly, here’s something very important. Red Cross is taking donations by text for the Haiti Earthquake victims. You might want to check it out here.

My review of the Haier Theatre PMP

-home-haieramerica-www-assets-live-b8c7e47a15_large.pngThere are a lot Portable Media Players on the market these days, and the Haier Theatre is a pretty good one.

The Haier Theatre comes in 4GB and 8GB models, and has a 3 inch touchscreen. It can do video and audio, and you can shake the unit to advance a song.

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC3 Headphones

ath_anc3_2I got another CES 2010 souvenir with Audio-Technica ATH-ANC3 or QuietPoint Noise-Cancelling In-Ear headphones.

This model is actually one of the company’s older models, but I found that it was just as good as some of the newer ones that they had on display, really.

This particular one is the mCube Mini, a way of charging a laptop, netbook or other mobile device on a car or a plane.

AMBER Alert offers a special device called My Child ID, and it has the ability to carry around information about your child like his or her address, medical history, and things that need to be known in case of emergency.

Review of the iGo Power Smart Wall

The Power Smart Wall is designed to plug in outlets that are always on, and it will cut off power to those that don’t need to be on.

Tianjin Jinke A6 and A9 e-book readers join the current reader fad.

The HP Envy 15 could be the first to use USB 3.0.

There is a rumor that AT&T might carry the Motorola Backflip.
