When I first saw the GameCase, it felt familiar to me. I first thought that I had reported on it before, but I did a Search on my site and found nothing. I suppose that the closest thing that I have seen was a Wii U controller. After all, it is two halves of a controller (with D-pad, two analog sticks, and console style ABXY buttons) that have a screen sandwiched in … [Read more...] about GameCase for iOS devices
Apparently, the iPhone 5S fingerprint thing can be easily hacked
Two weeks ago, when we first reported about the iPhone 5S, we talked about the touchprint ID, a feature that Apple hyped as big as the camera for the iPhone v. 2 and Siri for iPhone v. 4. Unfortunately, you can see in the video above that this feature can be hacked. This video comes to us courtesy of the Chaos Computer Club (CCC) which sounds like a pretty smart … [Read more...] about Apparently, the iPhone 5S fingerprint thing can be easily hacked
Oppo officially unveils the N1
I realize that this news is a day old, but in light of the big unveiling by Microsoft, I thought I would save this announcement for today. This is the N1 from Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo, and this is their latest flagship Android smartphone. The N1 has a 5.9 Full HD resolution display with a pixel density of 373 pixels per inch. I would imagine that the latest … [Read more...] about Oppo officially unveils the N1
DryCase Waterproof Case for iPads and other tablets
Okay, look at this photo to your left, would you put your iPad so close to the water? If you had a DryCase, the answer is yes. I think we all know that such technology exists, for I have been reporting on cases like the Otterbox and Lifeproof on this blog for quite a while. The DryCase is different as it is not a hard shield, but a loose bag that is not too burdensome on … [Read more...] about DryCase Waterproof Case for iPads and other tablets
Tunebelt, Take Two: The AB88 for Samsung Galaxy Note II
Some of you might remember the first time we covered the Tunebelt company, makers of some fine armbands. I forgot to review another armband they sent me with the AP88 for the Note 2. The good news is that not only does it the Galaxy Note and Note 2, but other phones like the Galaxy S3 and S4. It can even accommodate some of the cases and even battery packs of these models. … [Read more...] about Tunebelt, Take Two: The AB88 for Samsung Galaxy Note II
Microsoft announces the Surface 2
I suppose that it comes as no shock that I am reporting on this particular tech development. I would say this is the biggest thing since the news of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. The big M had their press event today, and here are the latest upgrades. It has USB 3.0, as well as a higher resolution screen of 1080p ClearType display. I have also heard that the battery life is … [Read more...] about Microsoft announces the Surface 2
Speculative Fiction Saturday: Monsters University
It seems that I have been targeting subjects that have been in the news for one reason or the other. I suppose I was trying to make a story with last week's Left Behind, as I can't understand why in the world I didn't hear about Nicolas Cage being in a Left Behind movie months ago. I have recently heard that Pixar has cancelled their animated movie for 2014, which is a … [Read more...] about Speculative Fiction Saturday: Monsters University
nThree is the motorized trike of the future
I have seen some interesting set-ups for vehicles of the future, and this particular one is quite interesting for a society that insists on one person-per-car, no matter how inefficient it may be for society as a whole. This is the n-Three, and it has a single built-in electric engine that only powers the rear wheel. The steering is done with the two front wheels, and the … [Read more...] about nThree is the motorized trike of the future
D-Link Wireless Range Extender DAP-1320
I have seen a lot of wireless range extenders, and I will have to say this one from D-Link is probably the most compact and simple. Products like the zBoost Metro can increase the range, as well as this Wireless N300 Range Finder from D-Link, makers of the AC1750 Dual Band Gigabit Cloud Router. The Wireless N300 Range Extender, or DAP-1320, is a simple small device that … [Read more...] about D-Link Wireless Range Extender DAP-1320
No more Amazon Lockers in Radio Shack and Staples
I have never seen one of these Amazon Lockers before, but the big A wanted to put their stations at stores like Staples, Radio Shack, and other major retailers. The purpose would be for customers to order their merchandise there and pick it up at the store instead of missing a delivery from their home. Yeah, if you aren't home, you can really miss some things. I am not … [Read more...] about No more Amazon Lockers in Radio Shack and Staples
Tell me what you think of iOS7
Okay, we had something pretty big happen yesterday with the release of iOS7, and I have been hearing mixed reviews of it. I have a lot of people complaining about the downloading. Something tells me that Apple's help line was brimming with calls for that one. In addition to this, a lot of people are complaining about the Calendar. There have been some compliments, like … [Read more...] about Tell me what you think of iOS7
Kinetic Sand is a very cool creation toy
I'm sure that we all have played with stuff like Play-Doh, but this kind of construction toy that is not as messy as that. Yeah, my kids have Play-Doh, but I am not exactly in a rush to take it out. The weirdest thing about this product is it is sand. Actually, it is 90 percent sand, and 2 percent I am not sure. You can see from the video that it comes apart and then … [Read more...] about Kinetic Sand is a very cool creation toy
Frontback gives your iPhone Galaxy S4 camera abilities
In my review of the Galaxy S4, I discussed the handy feature of using the front and back cameras being used at the same time. Now there is an app for that, for the iPhone. Considering that the iPhone has had front and back facing cameras for a few versions now, it is odd that it doesn't have this feature. It is really cool that this FrontBack app, which can't have been too … [Read more...] about Frontback gives your iPhone Galaxy S4 camera abilities
SteelSeries, Part 3: The Free Mobile Wireless Controller
Today I will conclude our SteelSeries series with the Free Mobile Wireless Controller. This does not mean that it is free, but it is a wireless controller called the Free. I can't help but compare it to the Nyko PlayPad Pro, as I just reviewed that one particular controller for Android just recently. The Free is for multiplatform control, which means it is good for iOS, … [Read more...] about SteelSeries, Part 3: The Free Mobile Wireless Controller
Occipital’s Structure Sensor gives your iPad 3D seeing power
As I mentioned the other day in my report of the Zeus, the 3D printer/scanner, it is clear that we are entering into an age of 3D printing. This particular Occipital Structure Sensor, also a Kickstarter project, is designed to bring the 3D world to the 2D iPad screen. The Structure Sensor is designed to clip right onto the iPad itself. From there, you can scan a room in … [Read more...] about Occipital’s Structure Sensor gives your iPad 3D seeing power
