Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)
So, yes, you did click on the right article, and we are reviewing more products from Urban Armor Gear (UAG) once again. Last time, it was for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and this time it is for the Samsung Galaxy S23. Yeah, we kind of went backwards on that. Well, at least we did some Apple Watch straps and another Lucent Power Kickstand.
Our Review of the UAG Metropolis LT Pro Series Galaxy S23 Case
I guess this particular case for the Samsung Galaxy S23 is named for a cityscape because it is very tough. It is made from a strong TPU frame with a KEVLAR material inlay.
And yet, it feels very soft. There is something about this kind of mesh thing that feels very flexible on the outside, with some rubbery feel on the inside. What is strange is how it can survive about 18 feet drops.
What is really cool is how the Metropolis LT Pro has this magnetic module that can align perfectly with the device.
Our Review of the UAG Monarch Kevlar Series Galaxy S23 Case
So, this is a really great case known as The Monarch, which means it is the king. This particular case has some Kevlar material, and it has a rubberized border as well.
Well, this is a case made from 5 Layers of premium protection, which includes: a shock resistant core, an unmistakable signature armor frame, a DuPont Kevlar Material, a polycarbonate shear plate, an alloy metal hardware, and impact-resistant rubber surround.
So yes, you can get 5 layers worth of protection, and it even works with wireless charging. Not only that, it is quite light, and yet very tough and unbendable. It is good for 20 feet of drop protection, actually.
Our Review of the UAG Monarch Pro Series Galaxy S23 Case
Okay, so we have another Monarch product, with this one being the Pro. I might as just get the layers over with: a shock-resistant core, an unmistakable signature armor frame, layered with carbon fiber/leather, a polycarbonate shear plate, alloy metal hardware, and impact-resistant rubber surround.
So, I might as well talk about how it can do the 3rd magnetic chargers thanks to a built-in magnet, and it can take about 25 feet of drop. That is the highest that I have seen so far. The rest of it is quite something, and it is simply super tough.
Our Review of the UAG PLYO Series Galaxy S23 Case
So we might as well talk about the PLYO. So what is the difference between this and the Monarch Series of cases? Well, the PLYO has reliable military-tested drop protection with a modern aesthetic, with construction of TPU shock-absorbing frame and PC backplate.
It has some really terrific air-soft cushioning impact corners, and they are very soft and pliable. The PLYO is good for wireless charging, as well as 16 feet of drop protection. I did forget to mention that this guy is super-duper transparent, if that means anything.
Our Review of the UAG [U] Lucent Power Battery with Kickstand
Yes, I have published an article for this already, and this one is of a different color. It is very simple type of charger that you just charge up like an average mobile battery. I mean, it has that four lights to full charge thing going on.
However, it is a cool kickstand built right in so you can watch a video while it was charging. It is perfect for MagSafe, and it also works with other wireless charging phones as well. This is a 4,000 mAh battery capacity, so I’m not certain how many charges that can give your smartphone.
Our Review of the UAG Rip Curl X Torquay Watch Strap for Apple Watch
Okay, it is time to start our reviews of the Apple Watch straps that we have been sent. This particular Torquay strap, named after a town and resort in SW England, is made with a partnership with Rip Curl, a company that makes a lot of cool stuff for the beach.
The Torquay has a dual injected molded strap with lightweight two-tone soft touch silicone. It definitely feels soft against the wrist, and it is both sweatproof and waterproof.
Yes sir, I have a lot of love for this particular strap, and the fact that it works with a tuck closure and Rip Curl branded looper.
Our Review of the UAG Civilian Silicone Watch Strap for Apple Watch
This isn’t the only product I’ve seen from UAG called Civilian. I’ve never understand why UAG calls that, as it implies something that us regular folk use.
However, Civilian products from UAG are actually quite good. It reminds me of the Torquay that I just talked about, made of silicone, but this one has a lot of holes. I don’t know why it has these holes, but perhaps it is because it is waterproof and sweatproof. It also has this interesting tuck closure.
Our Review of the UAG [U] Lucent Watch Strap for Apple Watch
I don’t believe that I have talked about the Lucent as far as the cases and strap is concerned. There is something very soft about their touch, and this applies to the cases that UAG makes as well.
Thing thing has some kind of textured gradient design on the inner band, and it has a water resistant soft touch perfect for wearing all day. It is very cool and it comes in many different colors. Yeah, you can’t help but love this thing, and it kind of feels like some kind of Swatch watch strap from the eighties.
Our Review of the UAG Active Watch Strap for Apple Watch
This is simply known as the Active. Yeah, I can’t really give any points for creativity, but it does live up to its name. I think I said in the video (which you should watch below) that it feels like the Active should be for someone who is enlisted.
It feels like it was made for some kind of active camper type of person. I don’t know how to describe it any other way, but I think it is quite appropriate that it comes with a Velcro Strap. I am told that is made for water sports, and I kind of believe that.
Our Review of the UAG [U] Dot Silicone Watch Strap for Apple Watch
So, I’m not certain what else to say about the [U] Dot Silicone Watch Strap. It is similar to the Lucent that I just talked about, so that is one thing.
This one has a micro-dot design, whatever that means, and I am told that it has a wider strap size of 22 mm. The Dot Strap is also made for taking on some hard exercise as it is sweatproof.
If you have watched the video below, then you might be wondering why there is only a shot of it on my wrist and not an unboxing. I’m not going to get into that.
Facts About The Company
Imagine that it is 2012, and the world is about to end because of some Mayan calendar thing. In Orange County, the action sports center of the world, the company of Urban Armor Gear (UAG) figured out that the case market really sucked, so they developed their versions of popular products. Okay, maybe really sucked is not the proper word, but perhaps room for improvement could take place. Honestly, besides Otterbox and other major brands, I think UAG really has what it takes to beat one of the biggest players in the case game.
What Does This Company Make?
If you want cases, UAG literally has you covered. Then there is some straps as well. But it is mostly cases for smartphones and tablets, as well as straps for smart watches.
I think I’m just going to put in links for my other UAG reviews for the past year, and the first of them comes from just two weeks ago:

What Do the Reviews Say?
You can see many of the reviews on the UAG website for yourself, or at least the products that have reviews. You can check out the reviews on Amazon to see how people are responding to these particular products.

Maybe I Want It, But Is There Anything Else Like It? Maybe For A Lower Price? Please?
I suppose you could go with Otterbox, but their cases are pretty up there in price. I would have to say UAG is up there in price, but not to far. I mean, you have to pay for protection.
I just reviewed Torras cases, and some of the Vena case.
I actually have another review coming up of some cases, and it will post soon, if it hasn’t already. I think I will always have cases like this to review as long as we have smartphones.
