I found myself reviewing Digital Foci chargers this week, and I reviewed the two Battery Porters, the 5200 and 8000. This particular one is the Solar Porter 12, which relies on the power of the sun. Solar Chargers are kind of hit or miss, because I have heard that solar power isn't really efficient. I am assuming it isn't based on the fact there aren't more solar plants. … [Read more...] about Solar Porter 12 from Digital Foci

Welcome to an age of KeMice!
I mentioned in my recent report on the Haptix that the mouse is an interface that probably needs some kind of update, and I found another one today with KeMice. The KeMice (which I assume is pronounced Key-mice) is unique as it is a keyboard that can split down the middle. You can see a video after the jump of how handy it is when you want to type with a huge gap between … [Read more...] about Welcome to an age of KeMice!
Our interview with Kkat, writer/creator of Fallout Equestria!
I am not certain where you would have to be living to know that My Little Pony made a comeback in a serious way with My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Unlike other shows that are targeted for pre-teen girls, this new My Little Pony has gained a following amongst older men. I’m not certain who came up with the term “Bronies”, but it is probably the best description of this … [Read more...] about Our interview with Kkat, writer/creator of Fallout Equestria!
Our Review of the Battery Porter 5200 and 8000, from Digital Foci
We are definitely no stranger to portable batteries here at TheGeekChurch.com. It seems like we get one every week, the last one being the ET-NP056K, fourth in our Eagle Trilogy. At this point, I am going to go with the usual anecdote of how we have had our mobile devices run out of power at an inopportune moment, and we all need that extra bit of juice, and we all need a … [Read more...] about Our Review of the Battery Porter 5200 and 8000, from Digital Foci
Haptix is set to change the way we interface with computers
Every once in a while, I see some sort of technology that has the potential to change just about everything. I really think that we have a weird way of interfacing with our tablets and smartphones via touchscreen, but most people interface with PCs and laptops with mice or that touchpad that I never use. The Haptix is a Kickstarter project created by Darren Lim and Reactiv … [Read more...] about Haptix is set to change the way we interface with computers
The Business of Android Apps Development, 2nd Edition, is out!
Well, since this is my fifth book, I need to do my job to promote it. Actually, this would be the 2nd Edition of my first book, so can I count it as a new book? This was the first time I have worked with another author, and I will have to say that Roy Sandberg was very good at what he does. I will be honest and say that I knew little about marketing Android apps when I … [Read more...] about The Business of Android Apps Development, 2nd Edition, is out!
Leap Frog presents the LeapReader Reading and Writing System
If you are familiar with Leap Frog, then you probably know it as a company that makes education electronic toys, usually with a green and white color scheme. I recently had a chance to try out the LeapReader, which isn't really made for my age group, but for those learning to read. The LeapReader would best be referred to as a smartpen. This isn't one of those pens that … [Read more...] about Leap Frog presents the LeapReader Reading and Writing System
Speculative Fiction Saturday: Jack the Giant Slayer
I mentioned the other week when I reviewed Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas that I usually don't review fantasy movies. Generally, I like to focus on films that deal with the consequences of technology, such as last week's Demolition Man. As I had a free Redbox movie rental available to me, I decided to give Jack the Giant Slayer a chance. I had been wanting to see it … [Read more...] about Speculative Fiction Saturday: Jack the Giant Slayer
A Post about Mommy Bloggers
What you are seeing here is the front page from The Sweet Life of Mommy and Me. Type that in without spaces and put a .com after it, and you will get a mommy blog. What is a Mommy Blog? Well, any mother of at least one child in their household who has read or contributed to a blog in the last 30 days. Yeah, I took that definition off a Mashable article that you can read … [Read more...] about A Post about Mommy Bloggers
Keep yourself undisturbed with the Off Pocket
This device is very interesting as we live in an era where we just don't want ourselves to be tracked via WiFi, cellular, and GPS signals. Imagine if there was just a pouch that would allow you to put a phone in, and it would be immune to all those aforementioned signals. This is exactly the OFF Pocket's purpose, as it is made up of metalized fibers to block all those … [Read more...] about Keep yourself undisturbed with the Off Pocket
New game for the Google Glass called PSYCLOPs
I think we all know that Google Glass is probably going to be the future, if it ever gets to the point where an average consumer could afford it. Yes, I really wish I could, so I could play PSYCLOPs. You can watch the video so you can see the PSYCLOPs in action. This augmented reality game is ported on a Kindle, because I can assume that a video of the AR glasses would not … [Read more...] about New game for the Google Glass called PSYCLOPs
This Hyetis Watch has a 41-Megapixel Camera
I have said before that we are probably headed into an age of the smartwatch, and this Hyetis Crossbow watch could be one of the most gourmet smartwatches that I have ever seen. The Hyetis Crossbow watch has a 41-Megapixel camera, which is an incredible resolute (as in, high in resolution) camera. This particular watch allows for connecting anything of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and … [Read more...] about This Hyetis Watch has a 41-Megapixel Camera
Audio-Technica ATH-WS77 Solid Bass Headphones
I know I just finished reviewing the Audio-Technica SonicSport earbuds, and I just got finished with the ATH-WS77 Solid Bass Over-Ear Headphones. Remember how I said that I liked those earbuds? I also like these Headphones, and I think it is pointless to say which I like more. I am listening to them now while watching an episode of The Office, and it feels like I am … [Read more...] about Audio-Technica ATH-WS77 Solid Bass Headphones
Able Planet True Fidelity Wireless Infrared Headphone with Transmitter
I have looked into Able Planet before, and they use some Patented LINX Audio technology to produce some good sound. I recently had a chance to try out the True Fidelity IR310TM which is a wireless headphone that works with an infrared transmitter. The headphones don't take too long to set up. All that is required is to plug the IR transmitter into the wall, connect the IR … [Read more...] about Able Planet True Fidelity Wireless Infrared Headphone with Transmitter
Audio-Technica’s ATH-CP700 SonicSport Headphones
I love doing headphone reviews, because I am one of those audiophiles that don't know anything about the specs of headphones or earbuds. I have reviewed Audio-Technica products before, and I am pleased with the ATH-CP700, or SonicSport. One thing that I love about the SonicSport is how it goes on the back as a single cord and then loops over the ears for a comfortable fit. … [Read more...] about Audio-Technica’s ATH-CP700 SonicSport Headphones
