I believe that the purpose of this particular device, the PhonePad+, is to put your smartphone content on a tablet. Personally, I think something like this is a long time coming, but I would rather have it on my laptop. The PhonePad+ is quite interesting as it can take what is on an Android phone and put it on a 10.1 inch touchscreen. Granted, it is only designed to work … [Read more...] about Turn your Samsung Galaxy phone into a tablet with PhonePad+

Tarot is the world’s smallest smartphone battery charger
I have seen some pretty small mobile phone battery chargers before, and the smallest has been the one by Devotec which is a little larger than a quarter. I believe the Devotec one is a Kickstarter project, but the Tarot is available now. The Tarot, which I can only assume is named after the cards, is about the size of a credit card. It is somewhat thick at 0.28, which is … [Read more...] about Tarot is the world’s smallest smartphone battery charger
Turns out, you can hack an airplane with an Android phone
Yeah, that is Alec Baldwin dressed as an airplane pilot, and that was an SNL sketch back when he was kicked off a plane for not quitting his "Words with Friends" game. He had a good line during that SNL news parody, as he said: "Come on, if you think that a 747 could be downed by an iPod Touch that they would even let it near a plane?" Apparently, it is possible to screw … [Read more...] about Turns out, you can hack an airplane with an Android phone
Samsung has another win for smartphones with the Win
In addition to the Galaxy Mega, Samsung has also announced the Galaxy Win. I believe it is called the Win because it is a win for users. My Source states that the Win is designed to "balance the needs of the on-the-go user". It isn't exactly the phablet, but it has 4.7 inch screen. As for the other features, it has a 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, … [Read more...] about Samsung has another win for smartphones with the Win
Samsung’s New Galaxy Mega has a 6.3 inch screen, or 5.8 inch
Even though that Samsung Galaxy IV is not out yet, Samsung is still unveiling all kinds of phones. I'll discuss the Win later, but for now, I want to bring up the subject of the Mega. I suppose the huge selling point of the Mega is the large screen, available in 5.8 and 6.3 inch versions. Clearly, someone is thinking that bigger is better as far as Phablets are … [Read more...] about Samsung’s New Galaxy Mega has a 6.3 inch screen, or 5.8 inch
AOptix uses multiple methods to identify smartphone users
I have seen a lot of smartphones that are able to identify their user by face, eyes, fingerprints, and voice, but this new AOptix is able to do them all at once. AOptix has this new case known as the Stratus MX is able to check on all of the above, and it can be used for all kinds of users. You will have to get a custom iPhone 4/4S case, and that is quickly going out of … [Read more...] about AOptix uses multiple methods to identify smartphone users
Facebook Home could transform Android phones into social networking machines
In addition to the HTC First, Facebook was quite a busy company with the introduction of Facebook Home. Facebook Home is a "suite of apps and a homescreen replacement for Android phones". It is an entirely free, and it makes the home screen about content rather than a bunch of apps. All of your friend's updates are seen in real-time on the device's homescreen, which is … [Read more...] about Facebook Home could transform Android phones into social networking machines
HTC annouces the “First” Facebook phone
Just so you don't get confused on the headline, I'm not trying to say that HTC is announcing the first phone with Facebook. For years, I have been hearing that Facebook was going to make an official phone, and now here it is. Peter Chou, the HTC CEO, stated that the First is going to be the "ultimate social phone". It has a 4.3 inch display and a dual core Qualcomm … [Read more...] about HTC annouces the “First” Facebook phone
First cell phone call made 40 years ago
Cellular phone technology is really taken for granted these days, but there was once a time when we didn't have this convenient method of communication. Forty years ago, on April 3, 1973, Martin Cooper of Motorola made a call from the DynaTAC phone. In case you are wondering who he called, it was Joel Engel, a rival over at AT&T. Cooper then went to a press conference … [Read more...] about First cell phone call made 40 years ago
The Wi-Drive+ MobileLite from Kingston
I know I have stated that I am still behind on CES stuff before, and I have finally got caught up beta-testing this Wi-Drive+ MobileLite from Kingston. If you are not familiar with Kingston, they make a lot of thumb drives and other methods of memory storage. The Wi-Drive+ MobileLite is a wireless card and USB reader, and allows content to be shared with about 3 users. … [Read more...] about The Wi-Drive+ MobileLite from Kingston
Finders Key Purse Phone Pouch keeps you from digging for your phone
Some of us, possibly of the female persuasion, carry around large handbags which eventually get full of clutter. Personally, I believe that the purse and accessories world was unprepared for the mobile revolution. This Finders Key Purse (get it, it sounds like Finders Keepers) is essentially a way to make sure that the mobile phone stays on top of the clutter in the … [Read more...] about Finders Key Purse Phone Pouch keeps you from digging for your phone
Minuum could change mobile typing as we know it
I know I have vented on this many times, but even though mobile devices can do more, there is still things that limit me. For example, typing. I am getting better at it, but even with Swype methods, I find that my typing really "cramps my style". I remember that year where I had to learn how to type on a keyboard, and I feel like this year repeats every time I text, use … [Read more...] about Minuum could change mobile typing as we know it
Stop texting while driving with the ORIGOSafe
I think we all know that texting while driving is a serious issue, so much it has become a PSA cautionary tale. If you have a serious problem with it, then may I suggest locking up your phone with the ORIGOSafe? The ORIGOSafe is essentially a lock for your cellular phone while you are driving. In fact, your car will not start if this phone is not plugged into this. If … [Read more...] about Stop texting while driving with the ORIGOSafe
Samsung Galaxy S IV unveiled
Okay, I think we all knew that this was happening, but Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S IV today. The Samsung head JK Shin introduced it with a huge amount of drama. I am in the process of listening to the Live blog, but here is what I know so far. It weighs at 130 grams and is 7.9 mm thick, and it looks a lot like the Galaxy S III. This one has a 5.0 inch display HD super … [Read more...] about Samsung Galaxy S IV unveiled
LG Optimus G Pro gets Eye Tracking before the Samsung Galaxy S IV
Today is the day that Samsung is unveiling the Samsung Galaxy S IV, and I have heard a rumor about it that I am just going to assume is true. I'll probably know in a few hours, but LG is also planning on having this feature on the Optimus G Pro. The feature in question is eye-tracking, and LG beat Samsung to the punch, a day early. I had heard that Samsung's eye-tracking … [Read more...] about LG Optimus G Pro gets Eye Tracking before the Samsung Galaxy S IV
