Master and Dynamic ME05 Wired Headphones Review

February 1, 2025 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Introduction (Does It Do What It Should)

This is actually the ninth time that I have reviewed a Master and Dynamic product, but honestly, this is the first time in over three years that I actually reviewed one. Yes, I’ll have a list of all the article that I have done in the past later, and for the most part, they have produced a lot of great wireless earbuds and headphones.

I’m reviewing the ME05, and as I said in my video, I think this is some kind of re-launch of an already existing product. As far as I know, they were made with “more expansive acoustics, more fit options, and future-proof compatibility”. Yes, I am taking that from the website, but I’ll also take this: “because we could all use one less thing to charge”.

Ain’t that the truth. I found it hard to believe that I was reviewing a wired pair of earphones, and it may have been just as long as the last time I reviewed something from Master and Dynamic. It’s hard to believe that they have some really great sound, but I can testify how good it is, with 8 mm high-excursion biocellulose drivers. I have no idea what biocellulose is, but it also has some brass acoustic enclosure for powerful bass and clear detailed highs.

In addition to the tangle resistant rubber cable, which has switches for volume and play/pause. It also comes with an adapter and a cool carrying case. I highlighted the carrying case in my video, but just found out the adapter (USB-C to Aux) just now. Oh, it also has six pairs of eartips, dang.

Facts About The Company

Master and Dynamic is definitely in the sound business, and so they make headphones, earphones, and speakers. I found out this is a family business, and the Founder and CEO, Jonathan, had this music recording studio in support of his sons’ passions for music and tech.

Part of the design is based on aviator headphones from World War II, and it took me looking up that fact on the “About Us” site to realize how true that is. So yeah, there are like some serious leather and stainless in their designs, which might come to you as a surprise if you don’t know their prime products.

Okay, Get To The Unboxing Already!

Maybe I Want It, But Is There Anything Else Like It? Maybe For A Lower Price? Please?

I’m going to be honest when it comes to earbuds and headphones. Most of them are put out to be the highest quality, but as far as the aesthetic is concerned, not much design is put into that. I think of companies such as Beyerdynamic, and they have a kind of commitment to the acoustics that matches the aesthetic, but I’m having a hard time thinking of other examples. Are they really all the same? Well, Master and Dynamic does a lot of things different.
