Fring is one step away from 2-way video

December 3, 2009 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Here's a new iPhone app that we will probably call "the beginning of mobile video conferencing". At least, in some future time we might. As of now, Fring seems to be made for one-way conferencing at best with Skype. There is a video here after the jump to show you at least one good use for Fring, and it is utterly stupid. … [Read more...] about Fring is one step away from 2-way video

Check out this NOVA DSLR!

December 2, 2009 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

I really wish I could afford one of those fancy-schmancy DSLR cameras, and I really wish I could buy the NOVA DSLR. Sadly, this NOVA DSLR is a concept by designer Erin Fong, and certainly breaks the mold when it comes to your typical DSLR design. The handle of this thing is doubled up so that both hands can hold it steady. It can also fold up into one handle if that … [Read more...] about Check out this NOVA DSLR!

These Christmas Tree Lights are pedal-powered

December 2, 2009 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

I love all the decorations that come at Christmas, and the ones with lights are my favorite. Of course, no one wants the extra fee on the energy bill during December, so these guys in Copenhagen came up with an alternative energy plan. As you can see, there are several people on bikes that are powering these lights. There are fifteen bikes powering these 700 lights, and … [Read more...] about These Christmas Tree Lights are pedal-powered

Total Drama Island, not for kids, and excellent satire

December 1, 2009 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Lately, I have discovered a show on the Cartoon Network known as Total Drama Island. As someone who hates all things reality on television, I think that the show has a lot of things to say about not only reality TV, but society in general. I don't allow my kids to watch it, because it does contain a lot of "more mature" (but not quite adult) humor. Also, I don't think … [Read more...] about Total Drama Island, not for kids, and excellent satire

Appstand for the iPhone is Digital Picture Frame

December 1, 2009 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Digital picture frames are all the rage, as they are very customizable with not only photos, but videos and various other options, depending on the manufacturer. It's very similar to our cellular phones, and I guess it stands to reason that someone would make a digital picture frame that works off of the cell phone. This is exactly what the Appstand is designed to do. … [Read more...] about Appstand for the iPhone is Digital Picture Frame

3D TVs still rising

November 30, 2009 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

A recent report from a Sony Executive has stated that 30 to 50 percent of all the TVs it sells from 2012 on will be 3D-enabled. This comes as no shock to me, as every company from last January's CES seemed to have a 3D TV that they were boasting about. Assuming the world doesn't end by that 2012 era, I suppose we'll be living in an age for 3D soon. Source … [Read more...] about 3D TVs still rising

Palm Pre Precorder for Video Recording

November 24, 2009 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Palm Pre owners will be pleased to know that there is a new homebrew software known as the Precorder that will enable some 480 x 320 pixel video recording at 30fps. Unfortunately, it is an alpha, so there are some bugs, such as not being able to preview what you are recording. The videos can be played back on the Pre's video player in formats of MPEG-4, H.263, and … [Read more...] about Palm Pre Precorder for Video Recording

You may have never heard of AViiQ before, and neither had I until they send me their laptop stand. I've seen some laptop stands in the past, but this one has an unusual design. Not only is it made of metal, but it is designed to fold up in a compact bar. It makes it easier to travel with your laptop, as it doesn't take up much space at all. You can read my full … [Read more...] about AViiQ’s new laptop stand

Motorola Moto i290: It’s a cell phone, what can I say?

November 19, 2009 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

The Motorola Moto i290 is one phone that is pretty much a cell phone. I suppose that I could say more about it, and believe me, I would if it anything unique about it. Truth be told it really doesn't. Seriously. It's not that I hated this phone, because why should I bring down a phone that works well? However, the Moto is in a market that is over-saturated, and there … [Read more...] about Motorola Moto i290: It’s a cell phone, what can I say?

There has been a recent rumor going around that Google is working on its own phone. It will sell directly through retailer, and should be out by early 2010. It probably won't be built in-house, and it is rumored that it is HTC. Supposedly, this new Google phone is not to be conused with the Dragon/Passion that the senior Google guys are testing out now. … [Read more...] about The Google phone a reality?

Apparently, you need this: Disney USB cables

November 17, 2009 By Techno_Mark Leave a Comment

Okay, let's take a poll. How many USB to mini-USB cables do you have? I think I have one for my camera, and a few for other devices. Not all of them are compatible, but usually the mini-USB is standard. So why not have Disney versions of these cables? Perhaps the better question is "why", and the best answer is "because we're Disney, and we want to sell some stuff". … [Read more...] about Apparently, you need this: Disney USB cables
